25th International Intensive Care Symposium

WORKSHOPS

Introduction

Reducing the intensity of positive pressure ventilation, to mitigate lung injury, remains a major challenge in intensive care—especially when pulmonary physiology is so deranged that conventional protective ventilation cannot achieve safe tidal airway pressures. In this setting, for selected patients, ECCO₂R can support a lung-protective strategy or, in some cases, avoid the need for mechanical ventilation altogether.

This interactive workshop, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fethi Gül (Marmara University, Istanbul) and Assoc. Prof. Matthew E. Cove (National University Hospital, Singapore), will focus on clinical indications, complication management, and case-based discussion related to ECCO₂R therapy.

Whether you are new to ECCO₂R or looking to deepen your understanding, this session will equip you with practical tools to bring this emerging therapy into your ICU.
