14.00-14:20 Introduction & Indications of Critical Care POCUS

• Importance of POCUS in ICU (e.g., shock assessment, fluid status, cardiac arrest, lung pathology)

• Overview of core ultrasound views and techniques (FAST, RUSH protocol, Lung US, IVC assessment)

14.20-15.20 HAND-ON: Shock Assessment & Hemodynamics

  • Stations (3 rotations, small groups, Rotating Every 20 min)

1. IVC & Volume Status : Measuring IVC collapsibility and assessing fluid responsiveness.

2. Cardiac POCUS Basics: Subxiphoid, Parasternal Long Axis, Apical 4-chamber views.

3. RUSH Protocol: Stepwise approach to undifferentiated shock.

15.20-16.00 HAND-ON: Pulmonary Ultrasound & Pneumothorax Diagnosis

  • Stations (2 rotations, Every 20 min):

1. Lung Ultrasound for Pulmonary Edema & Pneumothorax  (B-lines, A-lines, lung sliding), Pleural Effusion & Atelectasis

2. Diaphragmatic Ultrasound for Weaning Readiness

16.00-16.30  Free Scanning Session – Open Request from Participants

Delegates can choose areas they want to practice (cardiac, lung, IVC, eFAST, etc.)

Faculty provides real-time guidance and troubleshooting

Volunteers available for scanning practice

16.30-16.50  POCUS-guided fluid management

  • Interactive lecture : (Participants work through real ICU scenarios using ultrasound findings)

Shock patient: Hypovolemic vs. Cardiogenic vs. Obstructive

ARDS vs. Pneumothorax diagnosis

Cardiac arrest: Identifying reversible causes with POCUS
